The North Fork of the Shenandoah is coming up due to heavy rain in the Bergton, VA area on 4/30/23. It is fishable right now (7:30am 5/1/23) downstream from Edinburg but that will change by this evening. The high/ muddy water is between Red Banks and Edinburg right now.
The South Fork is dropping back slowly and is in better shape upstream from Luray, VA this morning.
Check the streamflow gauges before you head out to Smallmouth Bass fish.
The stocked trout streams are in great shape in Edinburg, Mt. Jackson, Fort Valley. The North Fork upstream from Bergton is high and muddy.
The mountain trout streams are in great shape.
