Smallmouth Bass Streams Fly Fishing Report - November 10, 2021

These warm days have prompted the bass to feed before the stream starts cooling off again. Often I start my day fishing with a size 4 Murray's Olive Strymph because this is often very effective. Fished downstream and across stream, it passes for a dace or sculpin minnow. Fished upstream it passes for a dragonfly nymph or a hellgrammite.

Both the North Fork and the South Fork of the Shenandoah River are clear and fishable.  The South Fork would be perfect to do a float/wade trip so that you are covering all areas of the river.  The North Fork at the Lupton access of the Seven Bends State Park would be a great area for fishing and possible taking in some hiking trails. Downstream of the Burnshire bridge area in Woodstock would provide several hours of wading.
