Stocked Trout Streams Fly Fishing Report - Update May 10, 2023

Update for May 10, 2023 -- All of the local stocked trout streams are still a little cloudy this morning from the rains yesterday.  They are full but definitely fishable.  The extra cloudiness actually helps as the trout are not as wary in these conditions.  Use the streamers and nymphs listed below.

Posted May 9, 2023  --Over the last few hours (3:15p.m) Big Stoney Creek that runs through Edinburg has gotten muddy from the rains today although the level has not risen that much.  It will take a day for all of the local stocked trout streams to start clearing. As they start to clear, you can expect some good fishing.  When the stream is slightly discolored it prevents the trout from being so wary.  Fish a Murray's Marauder size 10 (in black, pearl or chartreuse) for streamers or if you prefer nymphs: Murray's Dark Stonefly Nymph size 14 and Bead Head Prince Nymph size 14.
