There are many dragonfly nymphs located in the smallmouth rivers in Virginia. This fly looks and acts like the naturals the bass feed upon. It works best when fishing in the deep large pools. Strip it along the bottom in 5 second strips on a 9ft 2X leader. This provides a big mouthful for the large bass. Can be used from April to October in Virginia.
